You're missing the point here, I only loaded it because I found it hard to believe windsman's statement that E version could not be updated to SP1. It can be updated and another 90MB was offered through Windows Update.

    Hello anarchist9027,

You're wondering why someone would want an 'E' or 'N' version. For me, for the 28 years I've been playing with computers, a rule of thumb has always been don't install something you don't need, don't want or won't use. I never use IE or WMP, so why put 300 - 400 mb of crap on my HD. I know I can turn them off, I'd just rather not have them there, period. Not a matter of right or wrong, just a matter of personal choice.

That's what makes it a horse race.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not much on posting on forums, so it's nice that an old pro read something I posted. :worthy:

300 to 400 mb is way over exaggeration, but also as I have stated, besides those "Features" you don't want being turned off, Windows Loader is the only reason I could think of to use the normal version. Permanent activation beats 180 day fake re-activation any day in my book. That's my rule of thumb ;)

E editions can be activated by Daz's loader.

Why not just ignore IE and use Firefox, Chrome, Opera or whatever browser you want? I turned off IE once but that affected something else, don't remember what, so I turned it back on. Now I just ignore it, except for that rare website that seems to need IE.
