i have resoldered the chip but it did not work. my netbook is 5 month old. the warranty is not over but i told acer the fact that i update the BIOS myself to version 1.09
I was able to fix my netbook... i ended replacing the motherboard for free since my soldering skills (and tools) aren't good enough . This are the first emachines/acer i buy and will be the last.
Now i finally got the chip out of the machine and made an interface, and starts SPIPGMW up, and i seems to work, if finds the chip but i can't set WP# to high via the SPIPGMW /i command, is it because it says that the chip has a parity error? Any idears ?? Best regards Morten

Hi, it's some thing wrong with your interface, check 3 volt, ground, check that LPT port has I/O address at 378 (on most motherboards can change in bios), try to chang LPT mode in BIOS.
i was scared to death when my em350 won't boot up, power is on and no bios logo appeard. i read some said he forgot his RAM to install so i tried removing and re-insert it and got may laptop working again.. thanks but i have a small problem, the keyboard doesn't work properly. some key don't work and sometime its like it stuck keeps pressing one button and when i open a folder plenty of notifications says if i want to delete the folder i want to open. i doubt for malware or virus since a clean install of of OS i have done. i tried uninstalling keyboard drivers and re-install but still same problem. is this a bios problem? i have 1.06.
that would be my last option if its not driver or bios issue if someone would clarify it to me.. thanks sorry if this is out of topic but, i wonder why everytime i click on folder,files application it automatically wants to rename what i've clicked.. any idea?
