i think i will do this, I have bactrack4 some where in a usb I could use and see if I could boot it from the laptop using bt4 and do what above is said
so here is the update: I got a new hard drive! i use the usb tool to make a bootable drive i installed w7u and since the laptop had slick 2.1 (w7) slic i use daz tool. now the i have a working laptop back! but still I can't figure out what could happen to the original hdd i dont think heat could have kill the hdd but any suggestion on how to recover the info on the hdd is highly appreciated
so I recover some files yay but I originally copy the files to the now broken hard drive I did cut and paste to the broken hard drive. So I deleted some of the files that I need them back and on top of that I wrote some data on the backup hdd. but at this time when I was writing data on the back up hdd my laptop hdd did not fail yet. But when my lappy hdd fail I was like so now when I recover some important word,excel files, power point, but when I try to open any of these files I get this: Is there a way I may be able to do something and get back, recover the files writing on these files? thank you for any help
