I am using a debian distro that uses a KDE desktop environment. The login manager ofcourse used here is KDM. I would like to have a console-based login instead of a graphical-based login manager. I did try "update rc.d -f kdm remove". I did get a console-based login. However, then I could not start the graphical session either by "startx" or "startkde". Please Advice.
