I guess I'll introduce myself then by just saying "Hi." I recently (well, maybe an hour ago) started downloading Windows 8 Release Preview, as I have plans on dual booting it with Windows 7, but I need advice on this, as I don't know that much about Windows 8. Ok I tested the Developer Preview, Consumer Preview, and now the Release Preview, but should I dual boot it with Windows 7 or simply stick with Windows 7 until Windows 8 comes out in October? Any help greatly appreciated! Kind Regards Skull Kid EDIT: Oh, and Windows 7 is great!
Welcome ..Unless you have your main OS (W7) with a trustworthy periodic backup system dual booting with a beta OS (W8) is just asking for trouble.. There are countless examples of threads on this forum where the unwinding of such an attempt resulted in loss of data and reinstalling the main OS ..
Hi, and thanks for your kind reply I have a backup disk, a 500GB USB 3.0 hard drive, with everything of importance on. But anyway, I don't use Windows Update, never installed one single update, but of course I use Microsoft Security Essentials and keep that up to date. But I still use Windows 7 Ultimate (version 6.1 build 7600) since it first came out back in 2009.
