Thank you very much! Click image to enlarge Excellent! There's still some stray light blue hover selection images kicking around that I want to find, but for now, I'm happy. At least I can see what the hell I'm doing. Cheers!
Yep, there is more in Start Menu Panel and All Programs....and some StartMenu > Panels > Basic > ............. a hint
Yes. Thanks. Here's another item I can't seem to find using Windows Style Builder. Click image to enlarge Yet another light blue menu highlight. :| Know where I can find this?
Thanks again. I think I have all of my menus tweaked now as far as the highlight color. I used a black rectangle on a white background on all menus for now. Simple, and no more squinting. By the way, those themes look sharp. I'm tempted to ask if you have those uploaded anywhere for sharing...? Cheers!
LOL....nah, I didn't mess around with it yet, I have it downloaded today but I'm not in the mood....I think I'm gonna wait for integrated .iso (...reminds me when XP SP3 came out, remember? )
lol ... I remember ... I downloaded and installed in vm; I just gonna wait for integrated iso too lmao at SP1 posts ... "it's absolutely, definitely, positively, without a doubt, MAYBE!!!!! SP1 RTM Final
Ok, I found something else I want to change... Click on image to enlarge As you can see, (?) on the upper right (below the navigation arrows) is a highlighted button titled Organize. I need to find the resource to edit for the text color and style of those FolderBand buttons. Stuff like this always ends up in a place I'd least expect it within the aero.msstyles file. :| Any tips? Cheers!
Most of it will be at: Explorer & Shell > Explorer > CommandModule > <1> - image here Explorer & Shell > Explorer > CommandModule > <3> > <1> - Textcolor : Color Explorer & Shell > Explorer > CommandModule > <4 > > <1> -Textcolor : Color Explorer & Shell > Explorer > CommandModule > < 5> > <1> - Textcolor : Color ...and while you at it check rest of them <1> thru <12>
Yet another element I can't seem to locate within the aero.msstyles file. :| Click image to enlarge I'm not even sure how the color got changed. Anyone know where to look? I'm running out of ideas.
When I have to find things like that I often take a signal color like RED and do trail & error. I know, there is lots of stuff u have to change to find it but should be worth doing it.
Hi Dareck. I tried your suggestion and it didn't seem to work. However, your suggestion wasn't a complete waste. The solution was in the registry. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors] "GrayText"="0 0 0" Setting the value as above changed it to black text. (After logging off and back on of course.) I suppose I could've also set the background for that area to a dark color, if I could just find that again. (Yes, I changed it once upon a time.) However, doing that would cause color conflicts with the heading and info text near the top of the control panel. I don't need the hassle. I just want to stick to a simple, high contrast theme for the Aero Glass interface. Anyway, thanks again.
LOL! I'll pass on pink! That Control Panel is impressive though. Anyway, which version of Windows 7 are you running there? I use Windows 7 Ultimate and when I edit that path/location using Windows7 Style Builder 1.5, I get no change - even if I delete the GrayText entry in the registry. Now, I'm not trying to argue. It's just not clear what's going on there. So, anyway, I've moved on to other elements of the GUI like buttons etc. which is proving equally challenging and time consuming. I'm currently looking for the element that's causing this light blue highlight on this drop down list button. Click image to enlarge I've already changed the button image resources. I was wondering if it's something within shgina.dll controlling it, but I don't think so. Anyone know? Cheers!
