    Hey guys,

I've got a folder in my User Profile in Vista marked "Favorites" and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I've tried hiding it, moving its location in its 'Properties' section, even tried finding it in the registry to delete it. I think it might be an IE thing but I use Firefox exclusively. I've attached a photo of it - can anybody help me? It's really annoying me!

    Cheers,

    Matt.

    Hi,

I think you cannot remove this folder from your system. It's a folder needed for Internet Explorer that stores your favorites URLs. As IE is part of the system, if the folder is removed, it will be recreated automatically.

However, it takes few bytes on your HDD (I use Firefox too, and my favorites folder is only 2.9 Kb !). Just don't care about it ;-)

Have you tried any of the many registry tweak utilities ?

For example, I know that TweakVI, which has a free version, has an option to Disable 'Favourites' for Internet Explorer. Maybe that will do what you want. It also has tweaks for Firefox and many other tweaks for removing, disabling, or hiding items in Vista.
