Versions of Asset and where to locate? Hi folks, great info on this thread but I have one question maybe someone can help with Does it matter what version of asset.exe is used? I realise that its included on the Drivers/Diagnostics disk that comes with each machine but what if we haven't got this CD? How do I locate this on Dell's site? Is it included with a specific driver download or what is the exact location of the tool? Does anyone know? I have a Poweredge T110 that needs updated but I haven't the drivers cd so just unsure if I need a specific download for that server, or do I just use the asset.exe that is mentioned at start of this thread? Any help appreciated, keep up the good work
dell isnpiron n5110 (core i7) dear guys tnx for it but i dont know if i did or not, i downloaded the iso and i booted my dell with it and i changed my service tag with same one, and i checked my slic, slic shows it is 2,1, just i changed the key and it is activated but everyone is telling " after service tag changing it must boot in maintanence mode and u must enter pass 12/31" but i havent seen any of assest 12/31 or any but now it is activated but my bios is a07(latest), did i managed it or not?
Dell Inspiron Switch N5110 Came with FreeDos and SLIC2.1 was locked. I just followed the steps mentioned earlier in this thread and it works. - Boot with DellBiosResetCd (CD iso download link is in this thread) - Then say "yes" to change service tag? question. - Enter your current service tag as new service tag (current service tag is shown). - After service tag change, you will go into command prompt - Type asset PASS:12/31 and hit Enter to change asset tag (I don't know if this is necessary). Restart... and you have SLIC2.1 Thanks to Danmyd, pantosije, Mudy75
Brand new DELL Poweredge T110 II (C202 chipset): ASSET PASS:12/31 was ok!!!! I'v just put into the server an SSD bootdisk from my Z68 pc with 2008 R2 standard system. At first it asked for activating in 3 days, but after the ASSET trick it turned to activated state. (I replaced the G850 to E31230, and inserted two Kingston KVR1333D3E9S/4G ECC ram, so it is a really powerful RIP SERVER now) Ap
Hi Guys, Got an Dell Inspiron 530s. Have tried changing the service tag as well as the asset tag as described in earlier posts. Neither, setting the asset tag to PASS:12/31 or PASS:12/34 unlocks the slic table. Used the fasset and the asset108 utilities that came with the dell resource CD. Any ideas, whats going wrong?? Thanks.
Hi, thanks for advising. The problem is that flashing the bios doesn't really help, becuz the slic table doesn't show up. i guess i need to unlock the slic table before flashing -- or am i wrong (have already tried flashing a couple of times without any luck
Dell N7010 i5 . I make CD and USB with boot DOS 6.22 and Win98.(from DellBIOSReset ) Svctag ver. 3.3 and 3.4 BIOS A05 ,after A11. The result is the same - system stoped , as only run svctag.exe and answer Y. What to do? When mistake? Dell N5010 - worked.
Followed these instructions to a T, long after many other failed attempts using various methods including Daz which I later uninstalled. 1. asset Pass:12/31 -> OK! 2. Add Dell Certificate with Opatool 3. Entered Server 2008 Key with Opatool Rebooted, am still being told Server is not Genunine, watermark, etc.. This server is heavily configured and would love to be able to get this registered if possible. It's a Dell Poweredge. SVCTAG.EXE would not run, produced errors as did the DELL BIOS RESET CD. Thanks for all your help. Thanks..

Hello, I have tried booting the following on a T310 dell-svc-tag-editor-bootable.iso DellBIOSreset bootdisk.iso In both cases the message was Code: The system is not supported by this utility Any ideas as to why?
To clarify for those reading later. The dell-svc-tag-editor-bootable.iso has a number of utilities some of which are run by default at boot. None of those particular utilities are compatible with the T310 The iso also includes asset.com which is compatible with the T310 The commands to issue are: asset /S service-tag (where service-tag can be the existing service tag) asset PASS:12/31 then restart your computer.
