As far as I know, Windows will stay in notification mode until it has been activated, and there's no limit/specific time duration. This may be changed by Microsoft in the future by some patch to limit the notification mode.

Your answer has nothing to do with the topic. We are not talking about that crap here

Thanks for all the replies. So nobody is really sure how long it stays in Notification Mode.:p
But the Answer from david-xross_2 sounds the best solution, cause it really make no financially sense if Microsoft will leaves Windows 8 in Notification Mode for infinity

Maybe the time frame will come up after October 26. 2012?! It would make sense if MS let run the not activated Windows 8's till October 26. and after the public launch set an fixed time frame, which could be 30 days again.

The time right now maybe is used from MS to collect info's about many details from normal user's as well as from hacker's for to fine tune the system for the final launch and the first real updates to get rid of in the meantime known bug's etc.

Let see what will happen from October 26. onward.

You think, they spid out a patch which alters the notification into 30 days or so? If you see the updates which say, what they are doing, you can ignore them but if it is done on a secret path, you have no chance. Curious, what's happening
