Technet Standard has all Windows7 version but not Enterprise. And it's has all Office 2010 version (ProPlus and Standard) Technet Pro has all Windows 7 version and Win7 Enterprise and all Office 2010 versions (ProPlus and Standard) What kind of MSDN account did you get, since Windows 7 and Office 2010 are not included? MSDNAA? Only Windows 7 Pro and no Office?
I am from India and have many subscriptions of TechNet Plus retail. Happy with the price as it gives many products
Microsoft has really a good support on Technet. I'm tested, trying to order a new account in the US, but I live in Norway. It did not work. So I tried to renew my account I had in the US, to see if my credit card worked, and it did. So I paid $249 for a second year (to 2012). Ask them to cancel my renewing and pay back the money, no problems at all. Ordered a new Technet Standard account i Norway, first after looking on the comparison chart and sheet. Found out that Windows Server R2 Web and Datacenter was a part of Technet Standard, and ordered. But it was not. First I did get an e-mail telling me that it WAS a part of Technet Standard, then I got an e-mail telling me that it was NOT a part of Technet Standard. They offered me to refund my money if I wanted to cancel my account because of this error. So good service and support. I think I will keep my Standard account in Norway, and let my Pro account expire next year in the US. I can still use any key that I have generated, and use any .iso file I have downloaded.
I bought a Technet Pro last week (many thanks to Mykhen). Great value if you want really genuine software (as good and genuine as Daz or timesurfer!!!!). I will most probably let it expire next year (expiry in Aug 2011 and after release of SP1 for windows 7 so I can download the integrated SP1 version also). Will probably buy again when the next cycle of windows (2012-13) and office (2013-14) comes around.
Sounds like a good idea. I also have my account active to I get SP1 for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2. My newest account expire in august 2011. Then waiting for Windows 8. But still, if I use the Technet Standard account it will only cost me $149 per year, so not much money for all the stuff you get.
For fun, for the trill or because you need to? I don't use loaders and KMS activation on my daily used computers, but on several of my test virtual computers. No need to waste lots of genuine keys on testing VMs (but sometime I do that to test something)
"If something seems too good to be true____,it probably is...." IMO a TechNet subscription is an exception to the rule!
I have a question to all, Does Anyone know what the differences between MSDN and Technet ? If I'd like to buy an account, which ones should I make a choice ? Thanks a lot for your ideas and experiences in advance.
$199 is too high price? lol...not for all the good stuff you get there. But of course, do you not have $199, you don't have it.
$200 to high? go to retail store and buy office 2010 pro and come back and tell us what you paid for it.
Naw, just a big OLD house with outdated Heat/AC system (New in 1972) and 2 kids that don't know what an off switch is.
Yes, but as its been pointed out, its cheaper than buying most versions of windows. And you get allot of versions and other programs like Office. IF you can afford to by Windows at retail price, why not go this route instead.
It says I can get 10 keys per product. Does that mean I get 10 keys for W7 Home Premium and 10 other keys for W7 Ultimate, etc. for all other versions of W7 and Vista?
Yes you get 10 keys for retail versions of windows 7 and vista, plus each key has 10 activations online and 25 by phone.
