How safe is BIOS modding with Vista SP1

    Biostar Tforce 550 with asus slic installed from asus SP1 OEM cd works for me.

    Bios Modded Are Very Good With Vista Sp1 Rtm

    I have 4 computers with mode bios made from asus activation for notebook, they all have been update with service pack 1 rc2 (RTM), from windows vista ultimate 32bits, all are activated e working very well.

    Kyle, I just meant "That sounds strange", and did not deny that possibility.
    But I also believe their hardware tricks remain within BIOS at most, because each PC manufacturer sells ones with various types of chipset and setting a softwarewise trick (in the os) for every chipset would not be realistic.
    I do not have an idea about how and why SP1 deactivated your Vista, but it is not due to an intended one I guess.

    Where did you get that BIOS from? Allows you to be genuine?

    I got it from the transcoding thread. It's F11, so the latest version. With the SP1 installed, it's still activated and "genuine".
