how should i determine,whether i use x86 or x64

    oh I see.
    I am a gamer though.
    ok this is a thought can i get the best of both worlds?
    Dual boot?
    I'm thinking of installing the win 7 x64 & x32 on my system. would this crazy Idea work?

    You guys also have to remember that your hardware must support x64 or it won't work. Also any x32 game will run on x64 exactly like it will on an x32 OS or a little better even though it was written for an x32 OS. Most games I have seen are also going with x64 executables too. I would only use x64 though if you have 3.2 GB or more of RAM and a fast CPU though because x64 is more demanding on hardware then x32 is.

    how about the new i7 860 and a 4 gig ram and a top level new asus Maximus III formula Motherbrd with this suffice?
    to run x64?
    all of the hardware are new

    Most games are made on 32 bit (x86) because of the Xbox 360 and PS3. They are optimized for Dx9 because the consoles does not have Dx 10-11.
    I am waiting for the next generation of consoles (Dx11 and 64 bit) to go Windows 7 x64 with a DX11 video card

    So it is all up to you what you do with your computer. Windows 7 32 bit with 3GB ram and 512MB videoRAM (9800GTX) (CPU = AMD Athlon6000+ double core) works great with me.
