How to Boot using portable hard drive?

    How can you boot from portable hard drive, if that is possible, and how do i put my windows 7 onto it.

    Set your motherboard to boot from removal device as 1st priority.
    If you have a ASUS MB .. you may need to press F8 where Bios has it first post.

    Just did this yesterday on a netbook. Extract the contents of the win7 iso you want to use to the USB HDD and make it an active partition using Computer Management.

    Then, as above, change the boot priority in the BIOS to boot from the USB HDD first. Note that during the install process when the PC boots by itself, you will have to change the priority back to the main HDD in order to continue.

    Okay, I'v extracted the contents, now how do I make it an active partition?

    Thank's for all your help dude, BUT i used EasyBCD much easier. :)
