What toolkit is that? There are bits in this thread all over the place, sorry for not finding it... sebus
Where do those license files come from? Are that the packets that you said the activation server sends to you when activating retail? And if so are they always the same for a particular pkey?
So it looks like the activation system and office itself are pretty seperate from each other? Whatever license files are installed, you can always activate office even if it's a complete different edition? But how can those files activate office? Cause i.e. you still need a MAK key to activate office if you installed the mak files, a vl key and kms keygen if you installed vl keys, or am I wrong?
i downloaded the reg files with the certs and the one with tokens.dat i have office 2010 pro plus retail 32 bit on 64 bit os where do i get the proper files???
no I have it, just want to let you know about it. also not all the reg info is required in your reg file.
All this is getting way to complicated for me - a total newbie who got MS office 2007 activated in a jiffy. I have read through many pages on this forum but it's getting murkier by the post. I think answers here may be considered as a summarizatiion to others installing Office 2010 for the first time I have several (14) minor questions to clarify certain fundamentals 01. Why is the activator called mini KMS. Why mini? 02. What is the full form of "KMS"? 03. What is the latest version of this activator going around? 04. How many times can a retail key be avtivated - If only once what happens if a user has to reformat his/her HDD and reinstall a few months later say due to a virus attack? 05. How do i know that my downloaded (not yet installed) office version is volume or retail (any MD5 hash checks on the setup file, specific ids to look in the properties section or just trust what the source said or just run it and of it asks for a serial in the beginning it is retail)? 06. How do i know that my downloaded (not installed) office version is 32 bit or 64 bit (any MD5 hash checks on the setup file, specific ids to look in the properties section or just trust what the source said? 07. Can mini-KMS activation be used on a 64 bit machine? 08. Which activator has a sub-system whereby after the 180 days is over it can automatically reactivate for another 180 days? can this go on forever? Is this why the 'service' is installed 09. What is the future of office 2010 activation after it hits the streets (in mid-June 2010) for the common man in all its 7 -11 avatars? Any chance of an offline activation (phone activation etc) 10. We can create mixed chamnel installs and change to volume install before intallation (by substituting folders) and after (using swapped tokens) respectively? Can a volume install be made into a retail or retro-ed back to retail install? How? 11. Can volume channel versions also be converted to mixed channel and kept future ready? 12. If i get hold of a retail version I will have to install with one of the useless retail keys, then convert to volume channel or mixed channel and then activate - is this right? (assuming one can do so only after installation) 13. Here is the procedure that i am likely to follow for a no-problem install and activation. Please inform if any steps or assumptions are not correct or out of sequence. a) Get hold of a 32 bit Volume channel Office 2110 installation b) Install MS Office 2010 c) Convert retail token to volume channel or mixed channel (if retail was installed and assuming such conversion can be done only after installation) d) Let the activator fo its job e) Repeat every 179 days subject to answer to question 08 above 13. Would a 64 bit installation proceed in an IDENTICAL fashion? 14. Is there any difference in the RTM version and the Professional Plus versions? Is it safe to assume that all RTM vesions are volume lisenced versions but not so for those labelled Professional Plus ? Thank you very much
