I doubt you were ignored...lol Their probably eating tacos or drinking beer...lol I'm not an expert like these guys but when I booted into safe mode I used cmd to enter my drive e.g. F: then I entered chkdsk /f then I said yes to any questions that came up from the dos window. Also that tool that frisbee66 gave might help you too. I'd wait for them to help you just to get better than my intermediate advice...lol
lol I'm not an expert either TS. Also, you are right, I did not ignore bluealien. I was online and would go to other threads reading new posts. @bluealien When smart says your drive is failing, it is failing. You can try chkdsk to recover, repair and isolate bad sectors but it still means it is failing sooner or later. I have not tried HDD Regenerator so I would let TS give you feedback on that one. Cheers mate.
Thanks you too for the advice and help dudes. I wasn't ever having a problem with my laptops HDD. It was the external. I know externals suck but I'm ok with it for now. i just have every star trek and Stargate ever on it. And like 500 movies. I'd only miss the sci-fy...lol I think HDD installs are pretty easy. Won't it just recognize the new drive then I'd boot the new OS to it. Maybe not. I haven't done it yet on laptop but I know how to take it apart though. I did take the A+ classes with beginning OS and hardware and desktop support so I am trying my best to learn what you guys know at a descent pace. Again thanks for your time
