Should I use "Visual Refresh [Retail] LTSC Edition With Block KEYS.zip" or "Visual Refresh UI [New].zip" for Office Professional LTSC 2021 (Activated through MAS)
Why does installing the latest Retail img of Office 2021 (before converting it to VL) not give you the Visual Refresh by default? Shouldn't it automatically be included in that Office version?
Previously, I writed about the "ExperimentConfigs" section, but whis a broken interface, the entries for the forced use of settings in "ExperimentEcs" helped. The options are collected according to the current assembly of the developers. Not all may be, but some are outdated or not working. Some of the options have a different purpose, so they are not controlled by a simple true/false.
Will this fix be included in the Office Tool (R) continued by Dark Monkey? I noticed the tool has the option to implement the Visual Refresh look. Also another question if you don't mind, shouldn't Office automatically include the Visual Refresh feature when installing the Retail img version? Why doesn't it get enabled by itself without editing the registry?
1. But Dolmatov just mentioned that there is something broken in the interface in his previous post. 2. So users with the Retail version still don't have it by default? (without enabling it through the megaphone icon) One last question: Will installing Office LTSC via the Deployment Tool and then choosing Current Channel in the Office Tool upgrade the LTSC version to a Retail build number of Office?
Spoiler: My thoughts 1. Correctly paid attention that I wrote about the broken interface. Immediately after a clean install, I had an up-to-date interface. I experimented with a settings, and after deleting them, I couldn't change the look the right way. 2. It helped to remove the user settings with the inclusion of the interface through the "comingsoon" option. There was no button in the window title - I had to turn it on in the indicated way. Not sure if these options need to be added to various scripts. A few reasons: The standard installation should include a design of the interface according to the developers' idea. It depends on a license, in some cases on the update channel and other dependencies. Registry options are in experimental sections, so you need to check carefully before including various scripts in the main release. I haven't tested moving the three known UXPlatform сonfigs (options) to the different section. It may be sufficient to make three entries for all applications ("...\ExperimentEcs\all\Overrides" or "ExperimentEcs\Overrides") rather than making duplicate entries for different application names. In addition, the inclusion of the new interface on the official license (not ltsc) has not been fully explored. What entries are in the registry, will the forced entry of user entries violate the interface improvements in future updates. Including for a 365 subscription, which should provide improvements on its own. For complex texts I use the translator, so it can be difficult to read.
I don't have time to check. 1- you got an answer 2-current retail version not support it by default 3-bad idea, I don't recommended Install current release from ltsc source
Thanks for the answers. 1. Could you please elaborate why installing from LTSC is a bad idea? I thought choosing the Current Channel would update it to a Retail version with the extra Retail exclusive features (i.e. cocreate, etc). 2. Is there some way to do a custom installation of a Retail img file? I only want Powerpoint, Excel and Word specifically from a Retail version.
1-it might cause update problems later 2-latest ODT releases block [X] type setup offline install from [Y] Type source Code: example, when I want to use 2021 LTSC, I download Latest 2021 LTSC package and yes, I can download retail package from Current release, and do conversion later but I prefer not to. its not ideal way.
You mean the deployment tool? I'm not sure how to configure the xml file to deploy a retail version of Office Pro Plus 2021. And the online configuration tool only lets you choose from volume or LTSC licenses.
