@tomay3000 Did you resolve your problem with the E6420, if yes how did you do it. I have same problem with E6420, I manage to extract HDR file using method listed here: forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/44785-I-present-you-a-tool-to-decompress-Dell-UEFI-BIOS?p=750992 but i did not succeed to flash the bios using end key and usb stick. the name to rename the file usually is the codename in the schematics.. and try 2 or 3 brands of usb. some need crisdisk or wincris usb maker then add file. some use the .cap file usually its best to backup both bios and EC chips and reflash a good dump or rebuild the backups. then flash with a programmer.

not sure if it will work so you will likely have to do it the programmer hardware way with EZP2013 or CH341A and flashrom. nobody seems to get recovery working on this model.
