How to get an item added to Most Used on Start Menu

    I have opened the Paint program add least 100 times in the past two days. It has never been added to the Most Used area of the Start Menu. What do I need to do to get Paint to show in Most Used on the Start Menu? ​

    If you are using it that much right click and add it to the Taskbar and or Start.

    Been testing this.

    I have done this.

    Settings
    Personalisation
    Start
    "Show Most Used Apps" " ON"

    I removed all of the app which were already there.

    open up Notepad quite a numerous amounts. Plus the Calc.

    nothing was added to Most Used...

    Win 10 keeps on letting it's self down.

    Good suggestion. I have added Paint to the Taskbar. Still do not understand why it does not show in Most Used. Also I think once a item shows in Most Used or Recently Added and you remove it from the list it will never show there again.

    Just wondering, have you tested win 8.1 ?
    I don't use "most used" myself.

    No I have not. I do not think Windows 8.1 has the Most Used list.

    I have been searching my ass of as well.
    Win 8 has it, through 'properties' after rightclicking the taskbar, there you can set the number of entries you want in 'Most used' list.
    Windows 10 doesn't show this option so the number is set on 6 entries..?
    I can't get any more in, pinning a program doesn' show up as a seventh entry in the list.
