How to get SLIC 2.1 for Compaq Presrio CQ50-106ca

    Hello everyone,

    I have a Compaq Presario CQ50-106ca with Windows Vista Home. I got a disk of Windows 7 Ultimate OEM version. I was told in order to activate Windows 7 I nedd to have SLIC 2.1 table. By means of RW-Everything I realized I got SLIC 2.0. So I downloaded the latest BIOS update from HP website, but didn't make a difference in SLIC. So my question is if it is possible to install Windows 7 OEM on my computer. If so, what are the steps and tools.

    You need a Slic 2.1 bios mod or use a loader. Just read the stickies.

    I have modified the CQ50 and CQ60 F54 bios with SLIC 2.1. I have tested on my CQ50-110US (AMD turion) with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. No problems. Modified with Phoenix bios tool.

    To install, just unzip the file, and run flasher.exe in Windows Vista or 7 (may work in XP, not tested). README file included as well.
