"on non touchscreen systems the metro ui is possibly the most non intuitive interface microsoft could have possibly developed." Elegantly stated, imo metro is completely user hostile. T
Although I miss the old start menu, on some usage experience, I think I can live without the start menu. My frequent apps are in user files folder, taskbar and desktop. Plus more on metro interface where clicking brings up the app. I missed the shutdown and restart button which has also been taken care of through a shortcut on userfiles folder, desktop, and taskbar. So no third party apps for me for now.
this is my old classic shell theme on RP...... Similar to 7 one, just modified a little... This is my Windows 7 one
^^ thats not a software. that is a patcher which is replacing system files. and thnx for your kind words.
Classic Shell and a patcher which is replacing system files is ok, but I want also METRO start in left corner...
classic shell allows you to enable/disable the start screen thumbnail from its settings. its highly customizable.
Nope, this patcher doesn´t harm any systemfiles. It is patching the win 7 explorer.exe to get it running under win 8. Patch is reversable by simply rerunning. Stands a system file scan via Code: sfc /scannow in elevated cmd.
My biggest gripe is organization! I used ViStart (extremely buggy), and Start8 (looks great), but neither one lets you organize or drag start menu shortcuts around to keep things organized. Do any of the other ones offer this ability? Thanks!
