How To Install And Update Windows Vista SP2 64-bit Beyond Its EOL/ESU Dates

Best thing you can do on x86 is using June 2024 SSU and installing everything but the latest update rollup, after only the SMQR is left then you can install the latest SSU and the latest Rollup, breaking WU for good and getting yourself an updated build

After completing the updating process you will be on build 6.0.6003.23717 (check build in regedit under HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion)

 

I write again. I have problems with x64. Vista hasn't that error c8000226 but understand why. x86 i don't use.

 

is this for x86 only? on x64 i ended up on 23713. am i missing something?
i havent been active for the past years on this subject

 

Actual build revision is not that, it’s what the UBR value says, and it is indeed 23717

 

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay in replying! For the ESU updates, I'm extracting the CAB files from within the MSU's and then installing them with a Forfiles batch file. I installed the Important ones first, Recommended second followed by the Optional afterwards.

 

You have some skip black window on vbox 7.x when Vista has ESU? I know need put VBOXVGA but what more do?
