I want know how it is possible to install windows 8.1 preview in a new partition other than primary. Dvd setup does not let me to install in the new. Thank you in advance

I have a similar question. I have my Windows 7 installed on my SSD. I have 3 more data drives, all are "primary partitions" in disk management. I want to install Windows 8.1 on one of these drives for testing. Can I install it without formatting the drive and without creating the 350mb partition that Windows 8.1 usually creates during setup? So that I basically could just delete the Windows 8.1 folders if I want to get rid of it, without touching any of the data that is currently on the drive?
Wow I didn't know that, thanks! One question before I try this: will this be just like a regular Windows installation, so that I can fully use my graphics card and other hardware? The main reason for the whole installation is that I want to test if Battlefield 4 performs better on 8.1 than on 7.
