i actually found PLoP earlier when i was investigating this .plop.at/en/bootmanagerdl.html tito, you're pretty darn resourceful, lol
fat32 and exfat are the best filesystems thus far imho. it sux you can't have file sizes over 4gb with fat32 but that's what exfat is for. i don't know where you are getting that it's slow... your allocation unit size may be too high, and this will cause some issues but i'm not sure speed is one of them...
Nice thread this. I've managed with success to make a bootable USB drive for windows 7 & Linux Mint 9 using UltraISO. I've tried the same with Windows XP, but with no luck. Can anyone explain why this doesn't seem to work for me. Sorry if this has already been answered & thanks for your time
Ultimate boot stick If you want a ready to use usb pendrive with the following software + AVG Rescue CD 120.110810 + Avira AntiVir Rescue System + Kaspersky Rescue CD 10 + Acronis True Image 13.0.14157 (Western Digital Edition) + Acronis True Image 11.0.8330 (Seagate Edition) + EASEUS Disk Copy 2.3 + EASEUS Todo Backup 3.0 Free Edition + Paragon Backup & Recovery 2011 Advanced Free Edition + Redo Backup and Recovery 1.0.1 + Dell Diagnostics Bootable CD Version 1394A0 + Windows 7 Recovery CD 32 & 64 bit + Knoppix Live CD 6.7.0 + Ultimate Boot CD 5.1.1 + Hiren's Boot CD 14.1 + MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 6.0 + Parted Magic 6.6 + Kon-Boot 1.0 32bit + Offline NT Password & Registy Editor 110511 then you should have a look at this page: bootsticks.de.to or in english bootsticks.npage.de/welcome_english_66839593.html After you have downloaded the needed files und will only need to start one exe file an 5-10 minutes later your pendrive is finished.
Will any of these run without requiring Administrator rights? Or, is there a portable version or other method of achieving the same? I'm trying to make a bootable USB with the Win7 Ultimate x64 ISO file I've downloaded. I've attempted various programs, but I've been blocked by a demand for an Administrator password (which I don't have on this PC; Windows on my laptop won't start. ) Thanks for any suggestions.
Thanks, Tito. A major hitch in my plans (which haven't been going well anyway). I don't know if anything can be made to work from it, but I can get to Command Prompt and see an inserted USB drive via Diskpart List Volume on my laptop (which won't boot Windows).
Back to: AHCI Port 1 Device Error I replaced one broken Seagate HDD with a new one. After about a dozen unsuccessful attempts to install Win 7 from a DVD, I tried to install Win7 (downloaded from the Repository, Hash Checked) with a USB drive formatted by unetbootin, press F12 to get the boot menu and I get this window: American Megatrends DDR2 Memory Clock: 667 MHZ, Single Channel Mode Boot Selection Popup menu has been selected Initializing USB Controllers ..
