I think there's this huge misconception of LTSB. It's not receiving updates because it's not supposed to. Notice the 2015 in it. That should let you know, they aren't going to be updating it as a normal OS. Similar to how they've released SP's in the past. It's supposed to work like that. Maybe someone can make a sticky topic explaining each version and what it's supposed to be used for.
I had a hard time figuring it out myself. It took some reading, actually mostly on the Windows 8 forum for me to finally understand what most of the channels were. Got to admit I never really used 8. After installing the preview versions I dumped it immediately.
I am running the full legit LTSB version- IF you install office you get the telemetry back and onedrive, blah. (if you have a samsung ssd w. magician, the rapid settings won't work with LTSB) IF I were to do this again I would just get the PRO and do that stop windows spying program on github, it kills cortina, metro, apps. Then I just go into gpedit.msc and fix all the feedback, customer improvement, remote, diagnostics feedback sh*t. Then add all the windows hosts blocks to my UTM and delete the windows hosts ones because windows ignores hosts files. I don't know what no one ever mentions all the stuff in GPEDIT.MSC that the "privacy" toggles don't fix. This is what I did on my laptop, plus I get the latest builds.
Why run Pro over Enterprise? Also, what's with all the LTSB fanboys in full damage control mode? So defensive lol
How about converting to Enterprise LTSB? Code: C:\windows\system32> cscript slmgr.vbs /dlv Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.812 Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. LTSB is 'long term servicing branch'. This is not about removing metro apps and stuff from other versions. People who don't want to participate in current branch beta-testing use it.
Must admit was a little bored today and followed destructions, works quite well actually in fact could be a tad more responsive than LTSB on my computer,so it does what it says on the tin,Thank You ...........just need activation now lol
Thank you, Yes I agree with you it does feel a little more snappy, Seems to also have less disk activity.
