    Busykid508,

Sorry, I was falling asleep when I did this last night so I do not remember which method was used.

    MerolaC,

Thanks, I am going to flash it now. I'll come back to let you know how it does.

    MerolaC,

I flashed with you mod but it showed 2 blocks which were not changed. When I use RW-Everything, I do not see the SLIC information as was mentioned in another post. Is there some other way (besides installing the RTM) to see if the mod took?

MMm, should be because i used the ISA method.
Try Everest and check on ACPI the SLIC table.
If nothing is there, there is no slic.

Other thing you can do is to use the bios posted by busykid

    Good luck!

    Bye, MerolaC

    MerolaC,

I see nothing in Everest that mentions SLIC but I can't seem to be able to paste in a screen shot. I am going to try the version from busykid.

    Thanks

    Hi ya'll from the Netherlands,

A couple of days ago i heard about this SLIC stuff and what it was about (new to me). Eventually i found this wonderful forum :)
I've done a lot of reading and bookmarking, until i found it was time to do something (really) useful :+)

Yes, i followed the guide (which is fantastic btw) and managed to add a Dell 2.1 SLIC to my Asus 1000HE Eee PC.
The SLIC table is there now (checked with RW Everything), and now i'm supposed to activate Windows 7 OEM.

The question is... with what key? (i have no idea where they are or which one i should use)
Perhaps its really close under my nose, but i guess i'm a bit tired right now (been up all night checking everything out)

Hopefully someone of you kind and probably handsome (and/or intelligent) people can help a dutch fella out? ;)
I really appreciate what u people do for each other (the community)

Thank you in advance for any help offered. See you around!

    Busykid,

    Same result...

    funny thing though...

after I ran the flash utility I pressed F1 as instructed and the computer restarted. For a brief instant, it began to boot-up and then it stopped, the monitor went blue and then is continued to boot up again.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Derkmcw

Did you use any loaders, cracks, patches, etc to activate windows and did not uninstall them when you flashed the bios?

That is the problem...You cannot activate an RC version....you must have a RTM version.

I'm not trying to activate yet. I am flashing the bios and then looking to see if the SLIC shows up before I install the RTM version. Should I be flashing the bios after installing the RTM?

What exactly would you like me to include in the report?

and can you give me a tip or 2 about inclusing screen shots in the posts?
