If you install win7 with those other keys you only get 3 days to activate. What version did you install of RTM
Can your computer boot off a USB Flash Drive....I have given instructions of how to create a Bootable USB Flash Drive to flash your bios.
Noob to this, but trying to figure out something. Followed the directions on the OP and created a BIOS with the Award Tool 1.13 for my motherboard (GA-MA69GM-S2H) Left the Manufacturer at Gigabyte. SLIC -> from the SLIC 2.1 folder HP.BIN SLP -> HP.txt Cert -> HP.XRM-MS Everything matched. Loaded BIOS on a Dual boot machine (Vista Home Premium/ second drive was for Win 7) Rebooted to verify that the BIOS took & Vista started complaining that it wasn't activated now. (Had a Valid Licenses before) Restored original BIOS & Had to Reactivate Vista (Wasn't sure if It would Activate with the modified BIOS) So my real question is With the 2.1 SLIC/SLP How do I reactivate Vista, so I can work with it as a dual boot system ?
You did not have to do that....it is normal for windows to call for REACTIVATION when you update a bios, especially a modified bios from a SLIC v2.0 to a SLIC v2.1. All you had to do is reinstall the certificates and then reinstall the OEM SLP PRODUCT KEY and you would have been activated once again. The same applies to Windows 7.
A little tecnical question because i don't understand this point... busykid08 wrote: So i cannot make a bios with SLP = Asus and SLIC 2.1 = DELL ??? Windows 7 make a SLP check??
You can add as many SLP as you want. But you can only have one SLIC. Windows 7 uses SLP 2.1. And you can have an ASUS SLP with an HP SLP if you choose
Thanks again! I don't know. I went to the EVGA forums and there was an announcement for the latest BIOS update and it gave the option to use the Nvidia updatecenter so, I thought what the hell... Anyway, it worked and now I have installed and activated Win7. Thanks again for the mod BIOS Derkmcw
