Hello everyone, Please quick question here, Do i need to do anything to my windows vista before i mod my bios for windows 7 (slic 2.1) ?

Im actually doing a tripple boot system.

I currently have vista, xp and ubuntu.

Im planning on deleting my xp partition and installing windows7 ( Honestly i have already modded my bios using an extra bios chip)

I just want to know if i have to remove all hacks and or cr**ks from my vista, to continue ? And also do i need to install a new cert on my vista (cert relating to the info i chose when modding my bios) ?

I dont know what hack or cr**k my Vista is using, but i suspect , boot loader. (installed vista so loooong ago, that i dont remember and have installed vista on many other systems hence im confused too).

A quick reply will truely be appreciated.

    Hi

the how to of the first post of this topic states in 17

    17. Now flash your bios according to the suggestion of your motheboard manufacturer's recommendations- THIS IS IMPORTANT - Uninstall any cr**ks, lo*ders, bios emulators, patches or cr**ks before flashing your bios.

I have a few question on this

    1) Is this required if you are flashing from a floppy either booting from it or using a bios key sequence to search the floopy and install found bios.

    2) If you uninstall a loader after you have been running it for more than 31 days (past activation period) will it still boot into windows.

    3) Can you set the date back prior to uninstall the loader .... is windows this stupid?

I just want to down grade my unmod bios since the up grade has some problems...... I know dont flash a working machine.

    Thanks & Regards

I would like to mod a Gigabyte Award BIOS to activate under both Win7 and Win2k8 server and R2. Which one of the SLIC 2.1's should be used? Shell I just use DELL_QA09.BIN always? Is it better than using a Gigabyte SLIC?

BTW, is there any known issue by using SSV3 on Gigabyte Award BIOSes? I have just read that there could be some bugs with lot of RAM, and so on. Is it serious?

Use DELL_QA09.BIN 2.1 and DO NOT use a gigabyte SLIC for they will not activate Windows.

Yes, it will enter windows but your will be in limited mode until you activate it...If you do not uninstall loaders, then you will not activate Windows as a TRUE OEM.

    BIOS Re-mod

    Hello,
    I have an ASRock 4CoreDual-SATA2 R2.0 Motherboard, already BIOS-modified
with ASUS SLP and ASUS SLIC2.0. Can I re-mod my BIOS for Dell SLIC2.1
whilst retaining the ASUS SLP? I have a Vista-XP system on diffenent partitions
and I wouldn't like to impair my XP installation. It's an AMI BIOS.
    Thanks!

Use a new bios and add the slic and slp of your choice. Dell SLIC and Asus SLP is fine.

Be sure to use a fresh bios file and not the already modded one...

Thank you very much, I'll try it as you said. By the way, i liked
the quotation of Kubler-Ross. I'm also a fan of the late dame.
