    @miroesq

I followed your instruction, but I've got:
"Error! ROM space isn't enough. Failed to reinsert 1B module".
The same info I received very first time I tried to use Amitool.
    Help is required.
    thanks

    Hi
Frankly say I'm a little bit afraid and will not flash my bios. I wouldn't like to brick my notebook, for a time being I'll stay with Vista. There are also some loaders...
    Thanks anyway

Just wondering, I you brick your Bios, can you reflash? Or do you have to re-order a bios chip and put in the new chip?

You can order a new chip programmed with your bios, you can reflash (if possible), you can buy an eeprom programmer or you can hot swap the bios chip. It depends on the situation. If you don't know what you are doing then don't do it!!

Im sure it wont brick, may take function away though..If you flash without switches in afudos, it should recover if problems..ASUS is usually decent recovery.

thanks for the awesome guide :) but i have a problem, i have an advent 4211 netbook and it has AMI BIOS, v1.09, in fact i just flashed it today

i have the official BIOS from the website but there is no ROM file anywhere and it's not an exe file, it's .dll files and BAT files. So i'm a bit stuck on how i'm going to extract the ROM file :p there is one exe file though called AFUWIN.exe

is the ROM file located in that?

    thanks

    Verification tool

    Hi,

Is there a way of opening the finished BIOS file created using the slictool in RWEverything? Or is there another similar way of viewing the file?
It would be handy to give it a visual once over before flashing it.

    Cheers

It is not needed, but you can open it in either mmtool or cbrom, depending on the AMI or Award bios..

The Tools for that are included in the Slictool, as it uses them to mod.
If theh tool mods and says successful, it is a good mod in the method you chose..

Dont trust it..dont use it...But it doesnt miss often..:D

In order for the RWE to work, the bios code must be loaded to memory, it doesnt read the hardware...

    Hi
I have completely bricked my laptop. I used afudos /i"bios name". Laptop freezed during flash, after an hour I gave up. Yesterday I gave it to service and it wiil take a week. So it is an expensive mistake. Sometimes learning is a costly process. Maybe better luck next time.
