thank you for this tutorial i successfully modded my bios and checked that it has the slic 2.1 tables finally i'm ready to install windows 7
replies Concernign with my early post request, i would like to know how to edit my bios phoneix award v6.0pg because i've already made attempts by award tool but I cannot get all datas during the process booted. please, may help me?
If you download the tools from the unofficial site you will get all SLICS and SLPS that are needed including all certificates....if you download the tool from the OFFICIAL SITE, you will only get a few slic, slps and certs.
ok i somehow manage to get the answers.... so the verify button beside the "certificate" section is actually to verify the certificate file which later should be inserted after the modded bios is inserted (to check whether or not the certificate file match with the slic.bin). am i right to say that?
Is there any good soul who has already changed the bios for DFI INFINITY BloodIron_P35-T2RL? Many thanks.
BIOS Mod for K8V-MX Targa Edition Hello, I'm trying to mod BIOS for a K8V-MX Targa Edition mainboard. This mainboard is made by Asus, but is a special OEM for Targa. It can be found in Targa AV2600+ desktop. Targa BIOS is version 1008 (for info: BIOS ID = 63-0106-000010-00101111-021705-ATHLON64) Asus BIOS for K8V-MX cannot apparently be used for flashing this Targa edition --> error on bad ROMID. Using the AMITool, I'm trying to mod this Targa BIOS. After loading the original BIOS, the Manufacturer is initially set to Asus, and Method to SSV3. There is need however to correct for checksum before launching the mod (with SLIC and SLP taken from Asus). If I modify Manufacturer to Other, Method changes to SSV2, and mod can be launched. Both ways seem to succeed creating a modded BIOS. My question: is one method more recommended, or shall both result in a correctly modded BIOS? Thanks for your help. MrLacriz
'Dell Computer' needs to be at F000:E840 - which is where the $ODB$ string maps to in AMI. Hence 'Dell Computer' in AMI Tool. 'Dell System' needs to be at (or within 10h of) F000:E05E or E076. Offset 1E061 in the main (5000h) module maps to F000:E061 - this is normally a Phoenix/Award copyright string. There is special code in the Award tool to ensure Dell System is placed there. You cannot map Dell Computer for Award. Andy
Hmmm - I've spent some time trying to figure this out and keep running into a wall I think I got the bios extracted from my computer but no luck on modding - can somebody verify that this is dumped correctly (and if you're really nice mod it for me?) Thanks! Chy
modding by asus motherboard bios Hi, I have an asus p5w dh delxue motherboard if i use the ami mod tool and choosing the Dell slic and SLP and leaving manufacturer as asus. is that valid? should i choose other on the manufacturer? can i at all use dell slip and cetificate on an asus motherboard? can you please explain? and another thing after falshing the resulted bios how do i finnaly activate windows7? Thanks A lot in advance
Thanks Thanks a lot for this tool. I used it successfully, and I'm going to post the 2 BIOS I've modded (as soon as I get past the post count...)
Yes leave manufacturer as asus, You can use dell if you want but why when there is ASUS OEM keys SLIC and Certificate available
bios modding Hi, The reason i wanted to use dell or someone else was because i saw that the ASUS one is for a laptop computer and i was not sure it is ok as my computer i a regular one... another question does all this bios modding is better than using a loasder?? also does the loader is a program that runs in the background all the time??
It is an AWard bios..Not phoenix... Learn more about your hardware before you begin, I would advise... AndyP tool is only for SLIC. CBROM and Hex editor..for additional mods MODBIN also, but this is old tool and risky...
