Hi, I'm trying to flash a ASUS N4L-VM DH mobo, I'm using AMITool 1.51 and downloaded the lastest bios from manufacturer website.
Using AMITool I did the following:

    AMITool v1.51
    -Method : SSV3 (MMTool)
    -Motherboard: ASUS N4L-VM DH
    -Bios Revision : 0907
    -Bios Type : AMI
    -Bios SLIC : Dell 2.1 (SLIC CRC32 = 6A5C8221)
    -Bios SLP: "Dell System"
-Cert: Matching Dell Certificate (Certificate CRC32 = DD981F15)

After flashing the board the Win7 activation fails, using SLIC Toolkit V3.2 I found the following message:
    In the SLIC Diagnostic frame
    OEMID/TableID: X&RSDT != Pubkey == Marker
XSDT: ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ PubKey : DELL QA09
RSDT: ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ Marker : DELL QA09

Any suggestions of what I'm doing wrong...
I could not post bios links or attached images because I'm new poster, o_O

    pnkiller78,
First make sure you are Flashing from DOS (Not A DOS box in Windows).
If you did flash from DOS try an SSV2 Mod and see if that corrects the RSDT issue.

I was flashing using the EZ-Flash feature, anyway I tried using SSV2 and downloaded the AFUDOS flash utility to try the flash from DOS, and the problem persist.
    Any other ideas?:(

Can't use the 1.37 version of Award tool, but 1.29 still works fine. Why?

    Hello,

I have used the award tool v1.29 to modify my gigabyte ga-m61pm-s2 bios. it works fine with the latest bios f9d, but when i tried to use the latest version 1.37 I got a error. After loading the original bios it tries to load the slic file and shows a error message box:

    View attachment 6523

    OS is a XP SP3.

Could someone here help me, please?

    Thanks.

Not sure if this has been posted yet.

    My motherboard is GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 1.0) - gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3305#dl

I've been using award tool 1.37 to patch it, but a new BIOS was recently released, version F6m - download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/BIOS/mb_bios_ga-x58a-ud3r_f6m.exe

Starting with this version, I can't patch it anymore. I get the following error:
The patch works on any other version of the BIOS except this latest one.

(I don't have 20 posts yet so it won't let me post links, that's why I removed http from the links, sorry for that)

EDIT: "ISA" and "0+2" methods work (they create a SLIC bios file successfully). Didn't test them though. Any other method and more importantly SSV3 don't work.

Use OEM7 with ACPITBL at end Option (try this one first) or 0+2 Method.
One of those should work on that Bios.

I tried using the OEM7 method (I don't know what/where the 'ACPITBL at end' option is, though). By just choosing OEM7 I got this error:
However, looks like both the ISA and the 0+2 methods work - they successfully create a patched file. Since you suggested 0+2 I'll try updating my BIOS to that one.

Use OEM7 and Click on the Advaned Button and then check the OEM7 Options ... Force adjustment method and choose ACPITBL at End in the dropdown box.
This method is a bit more likely to work properly on these new Gigabyte Bios files.

Alright, just tried patching again with OEM7 but used that forced adjustment option to ACPITBL at End - still got the same error ("EPA module must follow ACPI module"). Still didn't try to update the BIOS with the version that I patched using 0+2 but I'll do that soon.

    That's a Beta Bios.
You better flash the UnModified copy first and see if it even works properly on your PC.

I usually flash the betas normally using the SSV3 and they always work - the last beta was from June 15 (but they removed it from the site now and replaced it with the newer beta).
I'll try the unmodified (and if it works, the modified) and update soon.

Update: BIOS updated successfully with unmodified version, and then updated successfully with the patched version (using 0+2 method). SLIC table present, windows still activated and so on. Everything looking good.

    Thanks for the help.

Out of curiosity I tried patching again to see what I did wrong, silly me, I accidentally chose the "ACPITBL at End" option in the "Dynamic options" instead of "OEM7 Options". It did work when I used it in the proper place, my bad.
