P9X79 WS Formal BIOS 3209 release 1. Update ME F/W to 8.1.10.1286. 2. Revise the auto rule that system would support secure boot and CSM at the same time. Does this mean no mod possible any more??? because secure boot is on now and will control the bios before starting it is there a tool so this can be disabeld?? I can mod the bios with pphoenix tool but flash goes in constant reboot now. Please help. that secure boot should be switched off asap. Is there a tool for?
Hello! I have Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 motherboard Want to make permanent mod with Slik2.1 Whether it is possible to make it for my motherboard? Read in the first message in this thread that it is necessary to use a DMI method But when I try - appearing an error that "DMI is empty" Prompt please - how to make BIOS with permanent Slik2.1 mod Thank you!
Hi. I have been looking aroung this forum for a while but could not find any definite info on how to mod the bios for asus maximus v gene. Is there a confirmed (permanent) method ? There is at least one request/response in requests thread for this board, but no method is mentioned.
Hello everyone. I'm new at this BIOS flashing thing, and I'm going to have to ask a few questions if you don't mind. I have an ASUS P8H77-I that I am using for my server running Windows Server 2012 Essentials. I have never done any BIOS modding before, and as far as I understand, this is the following procedure for flashing my BIOS with the permanent DMI method: 1. Download and flash the latest BIOS from the ASUS website. 2. Backup that BIOS using Universal BIOS Backup Tool. 3. Open the BIOS you just backed up with Phoenix Tool. 4. Select ASUS as manufacturer. 5. Select the ASUS.bin SLIC. 6. Choose the DMI method. 7. Flash the modded BIOS from DOS using BUPDATER on a usb stick. Is this method right? Also, does this give me the ability to install Windows in a GPT partition and still have it activated, and does it require the Daz Windows Loader?
Thank you for the response. Is the procedure the same with the Dynamic Method? And what if you are using a BIOS from the request thread, do you just flash that via DOS too?
For Dynamic method, open the bios in andyp's tool, select Asus as manufacturer, select Dell 2.2 SLIC, method should be selected as Dynamic. The modder should include proper instructions.
Haven't located a DMI area in the BIOS for an Asus P8B-C/SAS/4L server board - would it be safer just running with a Dynamic mod? The board uses an AMI BIOS, but internally the Phoenix tool (v2.14) reports an Insyde/EFI BIOS. haven't updated it to a .CAP style yet - may not, just depends on whether modding and flashing go smoothly
