    Hi all,

I am trying to boot a fresh installation of Windows 2008 R2 inside VMware workstation in audit mode so I could install a couple of hotfixes which cannot be integrated directly. I have done this several times on windows 7, all I need to do is pressing CTRL+SHIFT+F3 when OOBE screen appears however in Windows 2008 there is no OOBE screen, right after installation completes I am asked to enter a new password for administrator account and then the desktop appears. I tried pressing CTRL+SHIFT+F3 on welcome screen however it didnt work. I also tried running sysprep manually and selecting Enter System Audit mode however after reboot I am back at the desktop again. So how do I enter Audit mode properly?

    Thanks

Open sysprep.exe from C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep and select 'Enter System Audit mode' under 'System Cleanup Action' dropdown menu.
