Hi guys, Please give me a command to reset the permissions and ownership of the modified files back to what Microsoft originally intended. Thank you.
I am eternally grateful. I am asking how to put back the permissions only keeping the patched files. Thank you.
This set the owner but not the permissions. TrustedInstaller had Full Control I believe comparing to other dlls in there and not SYSTEM and Administrators. I believe we can shake hands on v1.3 of the script setting back the permissions + owner
Can the link in on the first page be updated to 1.2? It's still pointing to the 1.1 download. Thanks in advance
well i used Woot332's Patched Watermark Remover yesterday.i didt know if i should use all of them. anyway i pleased to say that iv had no build string or activation water mark at all .
Source? Info? Method? Creator? Or just trowing in random exes? And it's for it-IT only as it replaces .mui files and only it-IT patched versions are in there.
I guess that only works in Italian, because I checked in a Spanish system and this program does not activate Windows. Of the watermark, I can not talk, because I use another program.
Its better to use them all because hacked files can be reversed by Microsoft. At least the others are a kind of backup if that occurs. They run using very little resources anyway.
Always use only 1 method at a time. Don't install all things you find on top of each other or "the hell will break loose". When the brakes of your car are broken you aren't going to install 3 different new brakes from different brands on the same wheel at the same time + a whole new braking system made from components from different brands mixed together. No! You take 1 brake for each wheel, all the same brand.
That's true but so far the patches I have tested haven't caused any "problems" and work with all 3 used at once. Anyway with this kind if thing there are no guarantees so you use one or all of them at your own risk.
But when they patch the same files then uninstalling them will be a mess when mixing them... With file patch methods you simply need to be up to date with the patch. Installing all patches and not updating them and expect that at least 1 will hold it is bad, very bad. And in the end you'll end up reïnstalling windows, maybe already after a few updates. When keeping the patch up to date you can go on forever. It's what you choose, but keep your windows disc nearby... EDIT: Ok yes it might be safe, but you need to make sure they don't alter the same files. A patch method + thread killer wil be fine. But for the new 1-click solution user it isn't really adviced.
None of these patches use the same methods, they are suitable to use together, I prefer to run 2 methods for each problem in case one fails, no problems will occur from one being left on and the other getting disabled, but if you only use one method and it gets disabled, you got your old friend Mr Watermark back with you again.
