What is the wallpaper changer? Is that when you have multiple wallpapers and it switches through them over x seconds or whatever?
Well it hide the watermark till my background changed and now the watermark will not go away, so no it does not work.
Copy jpg file from C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\CachedFiles to your desktop. Open the jpg in paint, and remove the white watermark text with the pencil. Save the file and copy the jpg file back to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\CachedFiles
u dont have to copy to desktop even. i opened it with paint and cleared with brush. just save and close the paint, then restart pc...
you guys really like to lose time? just replace the image C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Window s\Themes\CachedFiles with image you choose for your desktop background, keeping the same image name. Then go to desktop and refresh...... walk in the park guys
What doesn't, what Alex mentioned? It works for me. Note that I used Paint.net to resize my other jpg wallpaper, since it had a higher resolution than my actual screen resolution (and the resolution of the one in the path that Alex pointed out). Now, whether it sticks through reboots is another question. I haven't tested that.
Okey guys i found the "Windows 8 Consumer Preview" string its located here so patching basebrd.dll.mui and shell32.dll.mui = no more watermark
Worked so far for me, on 64 bit, changed wallpapers tried to make it come back, so far it is gone. Thanks Woot332
what the heck am I doing wrong?!? run the batch, replace files, reboot, change wallpaper, still there, reboot, nothing, still there, lol weird, used other method just posted and it works!!@
I guess what ever version works, I did a combination of Mustafa Can and Woot332, similar to the other post here.
Use one method at a time to patch the watermark uninstall the loader before using the resource patch. *For those who are using a loader to patch the watermark and want to try the resource patch. 1) Replace the userinit.exe with the backup (untouched copy). 2) Delete w8loader.exe
