Ok well I took the modified basebird and shell32. Then injected them into a new ISO so now I have one that installs without one as well as no expiration. I'm trying to think of what else I can add but Windows 8 Release Preview was so much more fun. And well I tried to put in already activated tokens and it messed around with the desktop background sigh so much disappointment. I'll think of more crap to do to this release though I mean if it was the rtm I'd mess around with the upgrading matrix as well. I see no point in posting a new ISO with such a small mod.
you could if you wanted - add a schedule that will on boot use GVLK then local KMS Activate... surely they would boot once ever 179 days. as I recall here is such a program which when used like the old Windows 8 will activate 8.1 every reboot which then you should also use slmgr /ckms to clear and reset back to default autosearch (M$ default) then you can get all the updates. then for those that use.. you could make a Delta file to make easy to update your versions... that should keep you busy for a bit...
Wait I could add that on start up it activates using the windows tasks to make it happen. I'm pretty sure that it has a task to activate once. There is no point in doing a kms activate when its already permanently activated already. There's a better way to do this though.
Windows 8.1 Preview 1 is not 180-day trial version with which it was built to date 01-16-2014 copyright. Open the Run dialog box and type in the following words clearly: winver and slmgr.vbs -xpr
Ok I have decided what I'll do. I see no need for KMS activation as when you type in slmgr.vbs -xpr. There is a window which says permanently activated. As of now I'm done doing modifications to the Windows 8.1 Pro Preview.
It did not as I activated and checked each time I did modifications to the ISO's I have. I try to be quick on the uptake Faikee.
if you add the basebrd.dll.mui again after you upgrade to wmc it gos.........my only concern is after i upgraded to wmc it seemed to screw up the options to personalise the settings. it said "windows needs to be activated before you can personalise settings"
I'm just wondering but my copy automatically lost her watermark... I have Win8Pro with WMC... Updated thru Windows store... Left it do her things overnight then after some final things to answer then it does to Windows 8.1 Pro with WMC without any watermarks... Without changing anything... or any files for that matter...
Apparently I glitched out Windows 8.1 with the key I entered it doesn't want to activate. And it showed that it reverted to the previous edition. However when you go to all Windows programs in metro Windows 8.1 with WMC is there. Interesting...
I don't think so... The thing is, you can have that version even you are not activated... It says you are not activated because you are not activated... It says you have Windows 8.1 pro with WMC because you do... It say both because you have Windows 8 pro with wmc but not activated... Not because you glitched it out and somehow activated but it reports otherwise...
