You could! Just need to boot from different OS, example WinPE, WindowsToGo or Live Linux CD and than you could edit, move delete or whatever you lik do with a file which is otherwise used by running Windows!
Sorry, I missed that! Need my other glasses for to see those clearly. Will be back home in 30min and get it.
No need for glasses buddy: It is correct that a genuine upgrade from 8 to 8.1 still gets you an activated system without watermark but the logic tells us that a preview installed over a previous version never will be activated for ever due to its timebomb Same will happen when 8.1 RTM is out but then, activation stays for ever except you do some heavy changes to your hardware (same game as with 8 )
Sorry, my glasses are just a " natural" need for me. With nearly 66 that's just normal. Problem are the different Monitors I use. For my Office an Home Monitors (23" & 22") my standard Glasses are +200 while for the Laptop (14") I need +300! Even if the Licensed period is just till mid January next year, that fine for me because I'll change to final at the same day they's available in Thailand. The HDD with the now 8.1 will be replaced with an new 1 TB Hdd next week and I just need to restore the image file from the now overwritten/updated Windows 8. Just was a good time for to test the update via MS Store!
Hey, I've used the same build of windows but, the "Evaluation copy. Build 9431' still shows up on the desktop, I've replaced both files within the system files, any ideas on how to fix this? thanks. Nevermind, I've fixed it thanks for the dll's. <3
I changed the files and the watermark disappeared, but now its not appears the name Windows edition there in system properties.
