Also possible for getting new Icons, is Insider Channel. Please keep in mind, if you change your Office to Dogfood, you can't change to antoher channel after. So the only possibility is to remove office completely an reinstall. So Insider channel maybe the better choice.
That's inaccurate. I just verified that it's easily changed on my system. Since it's just a test setup, I didn't really care if it wasn't able to be changed....so I figured I'd see if you're statement was accurate. I changed from Dogfood to office insider and was simple to do.
I have not tested by myself, moreover read here in the forum, written by ratzlefatz. So I assume that it was true. Anyway - is there any advantage to use dogfood channel instaed of insider (fast) channel?
It's ok. I wasn't trying to be rude . Just giving feedback from my direct results. Is there any advantage to one channel over another...I suppose there can be advantages or disadvantages depending on how you may view it...the dogfood channel I believe has more updates and fixes to issues that are found. That could be a good thing...on the other hand, since it's not a final release update, there could be problems with the updates. I'm not an expert by any means though. I know enough to get me into trouble as they say.
As I found out, dogfood and insider is nearly the same. The difference is, that dogfood provides his updates even earlier than insider. But in the end, both provide the same builds. At the moment both are at 16.0.11514.20004.
Good to know. I did notice that the update was changed a few days later as well which matched my Dogfood. Weird name btw...
I install dogfood channel version and I notice Publisher, Microsoft Teams, Access, OneNote, don't have new icons.
Which channel is this? I have the new ribbon but not Ideas in Excel like yours, and the Insert section of Word ribbon is a bit different - more cluttered on my system
sorry, it's my post misleading but anyone knows how to disable Microsoft software protection? this app eat my CPU usage so much
Someone know why downloadsize of Office version vary sometimes? (tested with Monthly x64 only german) There is a new minor update from 25th march 16.0.11328.20222 foldersize 1,95GB. The previous version 16.0.11328.20158 is 2,32GB. Thats a large difference. So when I check the files, it's the stream.x64.x-none.dat and stream.x64.de-DE.dat which makes the big difference. And it's not the first time, that size makes this jumps. When I had the previous major version 1901 it was around 2,3GB, than minor updates came out and it was around 1,9GB. Someone know why it always changes?
Included delta files is what make the size difference more size = more supported source builds (e.g. PerpetualVL2019) or more size = more different files from source build (e.g. new features)
I uninstalled Office 2019 and installed 2016 but activation still fails. For the record I'm using OfficeRTool2018Dec02.
