I am running Office en-US 16.0.14026.20270 (Current Chanel) converted from Retail to Volume and activated by a remote KMS / Windows 10 19043.1052 activated with a digital license and all is fine. Download Abbodi's OfficeScrubber_5f and use the scripts inside to remove licenses and reset them, then use the repair option from Control Panel, you should end up with Office 2019 Retail, use a tool to convert it to Volume, then use the Licenses to upgrade to 2021, then activate. And do not forget to set /skms and /sethst to the same IP address. In theory, the above should work, but make sure that you use recent tools (some licenses have been updated). But if it does not work, I would suspect that you may have "previously" used a local activation and you are trying with remote activation without removing the previous one. Meaning, you have two activation methodologies at work in the same time!! If such is the case, find it and remove it. Check this post, it is not too long: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/discussion-microsoft-office-ltsc-2021.83412/
OK. All is finally good. Cleared/cleaned license and activation, did a quick repair, reinstalled licenses and went for the 2021 LTSC Preview and activated with KMS. All seems to be doing well. I'll know better when I shut down/reboot tomorrow morning. Thanks again for the patience and support. Cheers....
Great news, it just confirms the anticipation of how the process works. For every one else's benefit, is it possible to which part of the procedure was not performed well?
I am not sure what step 5 achieves? C2R-R2V-AIO and KMS_VL_ALL_AIO perform all the necessary processes (assuming the latest versions). Can you confirm that you were using the statement " "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\root\integration\integrator.exe" or a similar one in your previous attempts? If you have activated Office 2019, then upgraded to Office 2021 and activated it, you will find that that Office 2019 is already activated if you decide to remove 2021 licenses and the opposite is applicable. Consider the activation is for the license! Anyway, nice to see it is working for you.
So I have converted the preinstalled trial of Microsoft 365 office to VL, now it starts all programs without asking for the activation. Can I just live it as a VL without actually activating? How is it going to affect its usability? Furthermore, by using the KMS emulator, it won't affect my genuine Windows 10 Pro license, is it correct?
Check the status of Office --> File --> Account ? You don't have to do anything if all is working fine. Probably because you may be using Preview License. Activating using KMS would not affect Windows Digital License.
Booted this morning and everything (in Office) looks like it's still functioning. Yep. Figured Step 5 was redundant but does not seem to have caused any problems by using it. I do remember after clearing all the licenses I activated *only* 2021 using Office Tool Plus so the 2019 license must come along with the activation. Like you state, if I had downloaded a 2021 preview to start with rather than migrating/upgrading from 2019, I may be seeing only 1 license. I do not remember specifically executing that statement. So, unless it was included in 1 of the script files I used, this would be my 1st time using it. Other notes: * When I bring up an app like Word, the flash screen says only Word, no Office or 365 is displayed. * I haven't done a deep dive comparison, but it looks like the UI is different enough (from 2019) to notice it. I also believe I see additional functions available I don't remember seeing in 2019. And it does say Word (or Excel or...) Preview at the top of the screen once the app is running. * Version states it's 2104 13929.20408 Click-to-Run. This must be from 2019? I tried doing a manual update but it tells me it's up to date. Maybe that will change in a bit. Again, thanks and cheers.....

You can try changing the links manually (OfficeRTool) or reinstalling Office.
I have always been running "Current / Monthly" for years, I did have the "non-genuine banner" issue few weeks back. But then I sorted it on three different systems, which gave me different challenges. I have already documented this, unfortunately in different threads. Having said the above, this may or may not continue. Which means I may have to change Office Update Path to a different channel, which is not complex. In the mean time, I am continuing with the Current Channel. My MSO version is: 2021 (Build 16.0.14026.20270) 64-bit
I didn't mention it in my previous email/update but I changed the channel from monthly to Office2021 Perpetual Enterprise and that seemed to do it. Yep. I am sure MS is messing with this in an effort to reduce unlicensed workarounds. Just going to take it as it comes. When this is no longer a viable method, I'm sure another will be figured out. Cheers.....
I was aware of the channel thing for quite sometime, but what does not make sense is that the data is inconsistent. Probably the list of licenses given by the different tools at the Retail2VL conversion time. You can try switching channels back to current and see if produces a banner again, if it does convert it back, also check if it looses activation?
Status is saying Microsoft Office Mondo 2016 - activation required and that I have to contact my corporate network for further assistance, but other than that, it works fine so far, so is there something that won't be working later on or is it just that message and that's it? I mean, I bought a computer with C2R office preinstalled ready to be purchased, then I used the C2R to VL conversion CMD file and it did everything automatically. Haven't used the KMS as of yet.
Activating Office would remove the "need for activation message". The Office installation may be activated but still showing "non-genuine" banner! The "non-genuine" banner is the issue gathering a lot of attention at present, where two specific points are currently under the microscope: 1- The need for a KMS server definition on Windows hosting Office (set a /SKMS IP and/or /SETHST:IP). 2- The Office Update Channel (Which ones produce the warning message and the ones that don't).
Someone knows if the genuine message and yellow banner also appears when activated with the Microsoft Toolkit ? Or does it just appear when activated with KMS VL AIO ALL script?
Just a quick update on this.... This morning when I started the Word app the flash screen showed "Office LTSC". Checked all the other apps and pretty much the same thing except for Visio Pro and Project Pro. Those splash screens only show the app name. Activation (under Account) shows Professional 2021 Preview (no LTSC) and Version is 2105. Then, again, Project and Visio were always a kind of step-child to Office. Apps all still seem to work fine so no real issue.. Also seems as if the apps start much, much faster. Nice to see that. Cheers....
