[HOW-TO/SUPPORT/CHAT] OFFICE C2R Download/Install/Activation

Folks, I've read many issues regarding license modes, and I'd like to share my token of information.
Beforehand, allow me to agree that this C2R version is dreaded and perhaps still experimental in non-cloud or non-mobile systems.

What I managed to do was using the official removal tool, then extracting the OffScrubc2r.vbs script from that same package and running it, then manually deleting all leftover configuration files, especially those including the name "Office 2016" in: C:\ProgramData\regid.1991-06.com.microsoft to be absolutely sure it was clean.

After installing the C2R version once again, I just opened one program of every different installation: Word (ProPlus), Visio and Project, and simply closed the sign in prompt, then clicked the "Enter Key" and closed it as well.

Doing so shall make office detectable to any tool to convert it to VL.
I ask you to please test and share the results. Hope this can be useful.

I used KMSpico portable, just install O2016, start some prog from it (e.g. word), don't put anything for key, just close prompt and prog, run KMSpico portable and it automatically converts to VL and activates.

Please remember, you cannot tamper with some license files, as they are created once and only referred to if not deleted.

Clean Win10 install, so upgrade to current build by Insider/Windows Update.

did you installed 32-bit or 64-bit office?

 

x64 by Ratiborus tool.

in O16-C2R-Retail2Volume, go to x64 folder, start admin cmd in same folder and run cleanospp.exe
report the output

now in same cmd, run these commands:

so the error is not license related

now try some of KMS activators, if all failed then something not right or changed in insider build

 

Now when I open KMSAuto Net it says:

And activate button does nothing.

When I run Word it asks for Product Key.

Guess I need to wait for the official VL installer by Microsoft.

 

I don't think that the VL installer will fix this... But we hope it

@ratzlefatz, how thats possible if my system is almost fresh, installed Win10 Tuesday (from scratch, not upgrade), upgraded to current Insider build yesterday, so today trying to install Office 16 for the first time.
