    I performed the cleanup of C2R installation (build 1003) to the best of my knowledge.
    Then I tried to install the MSI version (build 1001), but got the setup bootstrap error: 1603.

    Any ideas where the previous C2R version number could still be hanging?

    "problem" is: O2016RTool checks for Click2Run (C2R) only. I must install VL version and test how to integrate.

    In the meantime you can use KMS_VL_ALL. This one will activate Volume Versions just fine.

    I have six VLSC iso 32 bit and 64 bit of Office Professional Plus 2016, Project Professional 2016 and Visio Professional 2016.

    How do I create three iso 32/64 bit of these softwares?

    Office 2010 Volume License could be installed and run forever without activation (it would nag you and display a red title bar but it was fully functional nagware). This meant you had the option of running without a KMS.

    Does Office 2016 exhibit similar behaviour for the 2016 .msi?

    Reporting my dreaded fate for installing the VL version.

    After deleting every mention of office and all related apps in the registry, as well as almost all files possibly related to it, installation could never complete no matter what.

    I don't know much about tokens and such, but they might be the ones to blame for holding info on the previous C2R installation of which I couldn't get rid.

    So, after OS-install from scratch, now VL is OK.
    Yeah, the ultimate "troubleshooting" for M$ products. :blowup:

    This I know.
    My question was concerning the different builds - 1001 vs. 1003.
    Since 1003 was released a few days ago I thought there should be an update for the versions already installed... :eek:

    Edit: I used MSI for installation and only installed Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.

    Today i have tried to use my VL keys with Office 2016 C2R installation which was converted to Volume. It didn't work. So if you are a volume user, you have to use VL version of office. Converted retails do not work

    Could you please show its key type? Thanks.

    (I do no have Office 2016 Volume key. Now I am applying my Volume:MAK Windows 8.1 and Office 2013 to have a check.)
