So I'm going to install Office 2016 through this tool. Seems like one of the best options. Should I install: Set Office 2016 ProfessionalPlus Install (1/0) > Set Office 365 ProfessionalPlus Install (1/0) > Which should I install using the program O2016RTool if I'm also planning to activate via O2016RTool and it's built in KMS solution. What's the different and what do you reckon guys? Any clarity would be brilliant.
In my experience the 365 install would be the better route as this build features ongoing feature enhnacements which are not made availble in 2016, or at least not as quickly as in 365 version. The Morph transition in PowerPoint being a good example of this. MSO2K16 receives security and stability updates but 365 regularly has new goodies addded to it going forwards. MS do this to make the subscription model more attractive. At least this is my understanding (and experience.) I suspect that cloud related functionality is more extensively implemented in 365, but that is just my guess. There are wiser and more informed MDL members out there, who can no doubt give you a better, more infomed steer on this?
Perfect analysis. Nothing more to say. MS is planning to go the same route as Adobe: Subscription only, cloud based services. Time will tell how they realize this strategy.
Is there a tool or even manual to convert the other way round, that is from VL to retail Thanks for any help.
Unfortunatedly, converting a native VLSC Volume License Office into a Retail-version (which accepts Retail keys for activation) is not possible. Changing a "volumized" Click2Run Office is simple: Just use a Retail key and activate.
Thank you very much ratzlefatz for your answer, my problem I was totally not aware that my installed office which is msi installer will not accept CTR installer along side and I have already bought this CTR.
Why do you want to use a mixed Office environment? What feature from Volume version do you miss in C2R?
Not really I have office 2016 for a while now and it is essential for my work, and I bought Visio 2016 in a real good offer, that is what caused this mix.
Hi, I'm having a problem activating Microsoft Office. When I open any office applications, an error message pops up "Microsoft Office cannot verify the license for this product. You should repair the office program by using control panel." I have repaired it using both quick and online, however the message still pops up. I have also reinstalled Microsoft office, but that doesn't work. Could anyone help? Thank you!
Use MS-FixIt-Tool from post #4 to uninstall messed up Office. Be sure to do all recommended steps how to use FixIt as described in post. Then try to install again. I'm sure it will work.
Yes. But you must (C)onvert, otherwise it won't work. "Conversion" means: Volume License certification files will be added to C2R retail Office. This allows KMS/MAK-activation on a retail C2R Office product. Conversion only adds certificate files. Click2Run still remains Click2Run version. It won't turn into a native Volume Version. So there are no "Volume" registry entries. C2R Visio will install. And don't blame Microsoft Support/others. O2016RTool uses a officially not documented (and not officially supported) possibility to add Volume activation.
That makes it clear for me. thank you very much About MS I have truely suffered trying only to explain this problem to their agents not just one but three of them till I gave up calling them.
dabour: Just some installation tips based on the assumption you had Volume Office 2016 ProfessionalPlus and your C2R Visio license is VisioPro (not Std.): 1.) Uninstall/remove Volume Office by using MS FixIt-Tool. Sometimes uninstall from Control Panel - Programs and Features is not sufficient and fragments remain. This may lead to problems during a new installation. 2.) Use "Monthly"-distribution channel for downloading C2R Office. This is the best compromise between "new features" and "stability". But if you are a venturesome guy, you can take any of the "Insider"-channels. The additional "Semi-Annual"-channels have the lowest feature-sets and get new updates not so often. 3.) Select "Set Office 2016 ProfessionalPlus Install (1/0) >1" This corresponds to your "Volume" version. 4.) Select "Set Visio Install (1/0) >1" (only if you have Visio Pro, otherwise input 0) 5.) After install finished, don't start any Office app. (C)onvert Retail to volume first! After conversion finished, exit O2016RTool. 6.) If you have Visio Standard only then install Visio now. Skip this if VisioPro is installed. Then insert your product-keys. 7.) Start any Office app (ex Word) and let Office activate 8.) Start Visio and let it activate 9.) Mission accomplished
Ive tried to follow the instructions for MS Toolkit, after installing MS Office 2016 from my C:\ after mounting and copying to desktop. When attempting to Set Installer Path to convert to Volume by selecting the installer Setup.exe. saved to my desktop, I get the error message: Not a Valid Installer! Ive searched the forums, but this doesnt look like its been raised before. Any help appreciated
