Build 15063 here. Only yesterday, I uninstalled it with the built-in uninstaller without problem. I would have left it, but though it didn’t start with Windows, it kept opening the setup whenever I started certain irrelevant programs. The trouble is that, unless I confuse it with something else, I seem to remember uninstalling it in the past, but it was brought back by a Windows update. If I remember correctly, it means that uninstalling it by any means is only a temporary solution, till a future update reinstalls it.
Simply true! I always use to uninstall OneDrive after every Update again and again! That's my first action after a w10 os upgrade!
OMG, thank you so much! I really needed to get rid of that nusiance nothing I tried in the past ever worked, uninstalled it with Ccleaner but according to it's log files in appdata it silently installs itself. I have had an issue with my files getting out for a very long time, remote access connections running in taskmanager every day despite having disabled the services, running every scan out there and always finding nothing. Just a few days ago I performed yet another clean install with the latest ISO but there is still no uninstaller for onedrive for me. I disabled it from start up and left it alone, but then whenever I would click save on any file I creat it would pop up asking me to set it up, I'd close it and leave it alone. After a few days it stopped popping up at all. Today I happened to click the properties on the dllhost that flashes up in process explorer every time I click to save a file and discovered it's One drive, I searched process explorer for "remote" and discovered it uses Remote Access, so hopefully now that it's gone I might not lose every file I create anymore.
Sometimes people need to get rid of OneDrive already installed on a live system that's the problem with MSMG Toolkit. OP solution is a good one, already tried and liked it.
@ anyone or @MELERIX Does this code need an overhaul? Just asking not that I've noticed anything wrong with it. I'm about to service a Win10 1709 machine now...
As far as I know, this here should still work https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...here-are-the-instructions.71775/#post-1290605
Very good question indeed... Thank you. I'm gonna use it. But out of curiosity, if I want it back on the machine how or what I do to install onedrive back onto it?
Ahh ok then. I tend to run a lot from Power Run anyway but i will give yours a try at some stage. Reinstall one drive after removing it? Thats the best one ive heard all week
Yeah yeah I know it sounds weird and mostly stupid but this is a client's Win10 lappy I'm servicing right now and I can't reach him now (lazy modaf*/&% /mobile-off) to ask him whether I nuke it or not
