Use the pid.txt file as suggested in the link given in previous post.As for driver,if there is no win 8(assuming 8.1) wifi driver for your laptop then this won't work as all ethernet drivers(wired & wifi) must be installed before starting the upgrade process. Why not use a VM to do this & then create a MS account & link your VM activated win 10 pro to it?After that just install win 10 pro on your laptop & activate it using that MS account by transferring license.

Thank you for the reply, I installed Driver Booster and it found all but one driver.(something about a Sensor Driver). That is an amazing program, it found 15 out of 16 missing drivers.

This is not my main laptop so VM is not necessary. I was just given this laptop because it had a broken screen. I replaced the screen and now trying to get it upgraded. Unfortunately it's not going well. It just will not activate. Enthousiast is helping in the other threat.

MSI 970 gaming. I wasn't aware of that method. Thanks.

Just so I understand this right, the process is:
    1. Download a copy of Windows 8.1 x64 pro
    2. Make a bootable USB using the iso with Rufus and make sure to select GPT before writing.
    3. Set BIOS to UEFI+Legacy
    4. Install Windows 8.1.
    5. Activate using KM Spico or MTK
    6. Run windows update and install all updates
    7. Upgrade to Windows 10 pro using the Media Creation Tool ?

Is that correct? Would that keep me activated on the retail channel of Windows 10?

    No, it goes like this:

    - Install 8.1 Pro, activate by any KMS solution, KMS_VL_ALL v20 by @abbodi1406 is my favorite.
    - Make sure the drivers are installed, specially the LAN driver.
    - Upgrade to win 10 build 10586 aka 1511 Pro (using the Multiple Editions OEMRET iso).
    - Upgrade to, or clean install, a more current, supported, win 10 Pro build.
    - The install will be activated by a Digital License.

Some useful tips for when you have a system with a MSDM for 8 Core/10 Home: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...03-aka-17134-1-pc.76889/page-126#post-1443426

No need for rufus either, just format an USB key FAT32 and extract the win 8.1 Multiple Editions or Pro VL ISO to its root.

For the upgrade you just can extract (or mount) the 10586 OEMRET multiple editions iso to a folder on the desktop and run setup.exe from its root.

Thanks. This has gotten a little confusing for me - forgive my inexperience.

Where exactly do I find this "Multiple Editions OEMRET iso"? And is there a guide on how to "upgrade" using an ISO? I'm assuming I'd boot it like a regular bootable USB ISO of windows and use the upgrade function instead of doing a fresh install?

What does "clean install" mean? Format drive --> Install Windows?

Is this the exact same result as I'd get by doing Win7 Ultimate -> Daz Loader -> Upgrade to 10?
I was under the impression that using the KMS solution yielded a different result..

    1. It's just installing windows as always.
    2. Check my signature for the techbench unlocked and MVS iso download options.
    3. Upgrading can't be done from boot, start setup from the running 8.1 install.
    4. Although there exist more easier options, this is the only one allowed option on MDL to get a KMS activated 8.1 Home or Pro (+N) installs a HWID.

I have, and I don't understand which files exactly I'm supposed to download and run. Which is the correct windows 8 ISO?

    Okay that makes sense.

There's a copy of Windows 8.1 on TPB named "Windows 8.1 X64 Home & Pro OEM en-US Jan 2017 {Gen2}". Is that good enough?

Create a MS account & then use that to login to win 10 instead of local user account(win 10 settings-user account-use ms account for login). You can switch back to local user account afterwards(your ms account will show device info with win 10 license when you login through browser).

So you can still update from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro using method from first post of this topic? I got legit copy of Windows 7 Pro installed, do I need any activator/KMS, if yes then is Daz-2.2.2 suitable? Also, what if I want Windows 10 Enterprise instead of Pro?

Finally is it possible to install Windows 10 Pro using Windows 7 Pro OEM key without pre-Win7>Win10 activation?

No need for any activator or upgrade, you can directly use your genuine win 7 pro key for fresh win 10 pro install.

So I just have to type my Windows 7 Pro OEM key in Windows 10 box? Also, which ISO to use, latest 1803?
