    What error do you get??
If it is the failed to re-integrate MOD_5100 then in advanced change SLAC to OEMS

    hello everyone

i hope getting some information here, i
i have dell xps730 desktop... it still using vista microsoft original sticker
so i am thinking it didnt using SLIC

now i am thinking to mod the BIOS
but the lastest bios that available on dell is the one that packaged
i dont know if it usable in dos enviroment, the tools run on windows and it check the previous installed bios before it can proceed flashing new bios
is the tools on first page possible to extract the bios from its installer package?

also,is it possible to add SLIC table to the bios if the bios originally dont have SLIC installed?

    thank you in advance

the tool does not work for me, i get the error message: "unable to compress module" after all other changes were done. i tried to modify my hp bios for compaq 615 notebook. any ideas?

    regards
    markus

UPDATE: i renamed the rom.bin to rom.fd, now it goes some steps more, but i get the question: "no complete SLIC table found - continue?"
what should i do? i get a file when i click continue but i dont know if it is safe to flash ist to my laptop afterwards...?

    hello Busykid508

i need to tell you that i can modify the bios. in fact, the rompaq is a compressed executable which extracts to a specified folder when executed. in that folder there is another executable, a readme and a ".CAB" file which contains the bios ROM. extracting the .CAB file with 7-zip works and i get a rom that i can modify with the tool. after that, i can re-create the .CAB file with a special tool (forgot the name as i am on another pc now), and that works. so the problem is the modification of the rom.

however, now i get the message "unable to compress module" again, it seems that files are somehow locked by windows while the tool is wokring on them. might be a problem with the tool?

    regards
    markus

Upload your modded bios file, the .FD file. Modifying the ROM has never been a problem, the problem is that they will not flash. The bios has a sig that is checked by the flasher. You can try to flash with the modded flashers. Another thing to look at is if the bios has two slic codes. If there are two slics, the protected one will not updtae..

This is a 2.1 marker and no, it is not found in the Win 7 and Server 08 R2 SLIC 2.1 bin Collection because because they only deal with .BIN files while DELL Phoenix BIOS requires MARKER FILES.....

Hi All. I've been trying to add SLP 1.0 to a Intel S5000SVA server mainboard. PhoenixTool can add Slic ok but what about SLP?? I've been searching and the closest thing I found was tattooing the DMI - this does not work on this mainboard... Don't ask me why the client wants XP on a dual xeon system...

    Thanks!

@ Andy'P just a quick question about SLIC detection is i know it doesn't really matter with most bioses but when tools detect it will say SLIC 2.0 is there any way it could detect actual type Like say DELL-QA09-1.0BNVDA and DELL-FX09-1.0BAWRD those are just examples.

That is it exactly andy great work i was thinking more of missmatched entries from original bios if you know what i mean now could this be added to AMI and Award tool then user can select from all available slics say the ones available for Levono just example:

    Code:
    LENOVOCB-01-LTP.BIN
    LENOVOTC-03-MSFT.bin
    LENOVOTC-5C-LTP.BIN
    LENOVOTC-5H-MSFT.BIN
    LENOVOTC-5I-LNVO.BIN
    LENOVOTC-5J-LTP.BIN
    LENOVOTC-5K-LTP.BIN
    LENOVOTC-5M-LTP.BIN
    LENOVOTP-6D-LTP.BIN
    LENOVOTP-6E-LTP.BIN
    LENOVOTP-6F-LTB.BIN
    LENOVOTP-6H-LTP.BIN
    LENOVOTP-7U-LTP.BIN
    LENOVOTP-7U_V2.1.bin
    LENOVOTP-7V-LTP.BIN
    LENOVOTP-7W-LTP.BIN
    LENOVOTP-7X-LTP.BIN
