Acer has a copy of Windows installed on the recovery partition. My guess is that putting the recovery code in the OS is easier and provides more recovery functionality whereas putting the recovery code in the bios limits the recovery option to cloning the partition.
urg!! u didnt have to reformat. just command prompt using the win7 dvd/flash boot, repair/command prompt, delete all wow 7 files, replace bootloader with fresh one.
You won't be able to delete wow7 files since repair/command prompt limits access to the windows folder. Also, there is no need whatsoever to delete the wow7 folder. Just cd into windows\system32 and type "bootsect /nt60 c:"
Wow, thank you.. Sorry, i was a little bit confused This is the only one that works (with your modification, not original) that wouldnt end it the blinky black screen thanxs! But i have a question, and hopefully i explain if good enough, and hopefully it hasnt already been answered (or shut down).. OK.. I am dualbooting Vista and 7 and My laptop had Acer's OEM vista on my laptop, (with its slic stuff), but wen i apply this, it ruins my Acer oem activat*n.. Now i can activ*te Vista through HP's OEM activati*n, but it just doesnt feel right, you know.. I at least want one of my os's to be reallllly genuine So, is it possible for the wow7 to be applied only after i , in my boot menu, choose windows 7?? Thanxs again sunfish for your help..
You have two options: 1. Modify wow7 to install Acer SLIC 2.1 instead of HP SLIC 2.1. In this case, your original Vista is genuinely genuine. Don't know if and when Acer SLIC 2.1 is out, so you may have to wait. In any case, you will have to wait for the w7 certs and keys anyway. 2. Replace Acer cert and key with HP's in the original Vista. In this case, your original Vista is no longer truly genuine.
Mhm.. Okay, thank you.. I did option number 2, but i will wait for option number 1 to become possible, thank you!
Amazing...this loader is the only one that worked on my LG X110 netbook (a clone of the famous MSI Wind, with an (non moddable ?) AMI APTIO bios) and activated ! However, it has a lot of boot messages before Windows starting, may I hide those messages ? Could you please make a new version in silent mode ? NB: this loader could'nt activate an HP Pavilion...so resistent ?
Hi! I installed this on a HP HDX 9200 Dragon and it didn't work. I've also tried every other loader I could found and neither did they work! With WoW, after installing and following every step carefully, I get the message saying that the Bootsector was updated (as shown in the tutorial), but after restarting, everything shows as always, there's no Grub screen or some clue to know that it's actually running! And then, going to Rw-Everything shows that SLIC 2.0 is active, but no 2.1, so validation doesn't work neither. Anyway, can you tell me how to check to see if Grub is actually running or if it isn't even installed correctly? Thanks.
