Just adding my quick thanks for this thread - used the info to create my own MUI/AIO SP1 install, and it's working perfectly. Thanks!
When I get the packages installed in Windows 7 SP1, I recieve following information concerning installed language packs: (used command Dism /image:C:\temp\WIM /Get-Packages) Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~en-US~6.1.7601.17514 Microsoft-Windows-Client-Refresh-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~en-US~6.1.7601.17514 Microsoft-Windows-IE-Troubleshooters-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~en-US~6.1.7601.17514 Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~en-US~8.0.7601.17514 Then I integrate the dutch lp.cab. Again I view the installed packages concerning language packs: Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~en-US~6.1.7601.17514 Microsoft-Windows-Client-Refresh-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~en-US~6.1.7601.17514 Microsoft-Windows-Client-Refresh-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~nl-NL~6.1.7601.17514 Microsoft-Windows-IE-Troubleshooters-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~en-US~6.1.7601.17514 Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~en-US~8.0.7601.17514 Anyone any idea how to localize the other packages??? The weird thing is that when Windows 7 SP1 is installed in Dutch, everythings seems to be localized.
Thats beacuse it is. The language pack localizes everything, but guessing the old ones are still there.
hi all, Sorry for my English ... But you're talking about a "AIK supplement" when working on 7 SP1 iso. Where is it ? I can not find this iso. thank you for your answer ttmax.
you must use the platform specific files there are x86 local and language packs, and there are amd64 versions also the winre files are also platform specific... WAIK includes all 3, but as far as language and local packs, they are separate downloads
Thanks for answer. i know that there are local-packs and language-packs for x64 and x86. My question is about fourth step because ttmax said "you can easily use a W7 DVD to localize W2008r2 and vice-versa, by using it indifferently for most folders." at guide. If W7 files works for server 2008r2 maybe x86 files can work on x64 dvd.
no, you can't use 7 language packs with 2008 R2... there are 2008 R2 specific language packs you must use... I don't see any local packs for the 2008 R2 on wzor's site, so the 7 ones probably will work... no big deal if you don't have them though
This part of the localization isn't very important. But if you do it, you MUST copy from a DVD in the destination language to your customized DVD. This has to be from Win7-x32 to Win7-x32 , Win7-x64 to Win7-x64 or W2008R2 to W2008R2. If you don't do these copies, some part of installation dialogs when doing an upgrade install (example from Vista) will stay in English. It seems tha some of these copied files can be found inside langage packs, but not all. Hope this helps.
it's just the supplement, same thing as the wzor leak... MS won't release the full thing with SP1, so you have to download BOTH the supplement AND the original, which means you have to put the link to the original back into your first post you must install the original WAIK first then copy over the files in the PETools directory where WAIK is installed
Everybody interested in that process know what you say. I didn't changed the link in my 1st post. Microsoft changed the content of the link. I didn't found windows 7 AIK anymore at microsoft. Only the supplement is available since feb 16. If Msoft change that, I'll add (not replace) the link to the "base" waik to my post. ...
sorry, I misread... let me see if I can google the original WAIK and link it here... otherwise, other sources might be necessary.... good thing I already burned mine off
