If someone does not like the default skin included with Aero Glass installation, he can select from other skins which have been made by the community. Some of them are present on Aero Glass website. There is also a link to the topic with other community's skins
I have problems with the very function of these tools. I don't recall the exact issue, but some things that are only visible if not transparent ended up being invisible with transparency tools.

Does anyone else is having problems with a gigant blue box in front of a truck? (can't download from dropbox) Yesterday Windows 8.1 updated and a popup of my old version of Aero Glass showed saying that my symbols were incompatible with bla bla... If I use this method do I have to manually update my symbols to the latest versions? Thanks.
Yeah, I had problems reaching Berlios as well. But I did manage to get a copy of v1.2.5 from the hosting site he uses for his downloads. Do I have permission to share a copy of it with you? I s there a way to enable the basic theme on windows 8.1? While installing vmware tools it shows that theme for 1 or 2 seconds.
You can port the basic.theme file from W2012SR2 and store it to \Windows\Resources\Ease of Access Themes folder, but you will get the different theme from that on the picture. That theme on your picture is actually hardcoded look of Windows without DX9 support. VMware tools changes the graphic driver, so that hardcoded look flashes for a while.
