If your using Firefox or Chrome, just install the mega app into your browser and your download will start working right away. That is the only way I can get downloads to work from mega.
I am getting error when my Windows does boot: I did create the Symbols directory before installing AeroGlass, however if I click Annuleren (Which means Cancel), the Glass8 works fine... But this pop-up annoys me a lot, anybody knows a fix for this? I am using version 1.2.5 which 2014-05-13_W8-1-1_x64 symbols.
Don't forget Glasspwn to get rid of the pesky watermark if you cant afford to pay for it. EDIT: i downloaded the 671MB symbol package from MS and its still incompatible aero glass broke when the so called august update came out.
worked first time for m these are the steps i followed to set it up correctly. however i must mention that i tried settin it up on my laptop which runs win8.1 pro 64 bit (withOUT the 8.1 update) and it did not work. i tried installin it usin the W8-1-1_x64 symbols to no avail. then i reinstalled it usin the W8-1-0_x64 symbols, again to no avail. but when i tried to install it on my desktop (win8.1 pro WITH update 1) it worked like a charm!! Step 1: create the symbols folder --> "C:\AeroGlass\symbols" Step 2: copy the contents of the "symbols" folder from the rar you downloaded into the "symbols" folder created in step 1. Step 3: run the install (cant post links cz of low post count bt the url is "glass8 . eu". it will say that the folder already exists and asks if u wud like to install to that directory. say yes and proceed with the install. and BAM its on. welcome home windows 8 aero!!! for me the decidin factor was whether or not u have the windows 8.1 update. ill update my laptop to win8.1 update 1 and see if it works and then ill get back to yall. easy PS. for added effect, if ur usin firefox then download the glassmyfox addon. it makes ur firefox look super badass
What really sucks about AeroGlass and Windows 8.1 is that the top window title is in a solid-color rectangle, completely offsetting that nice AeroGlass effect... Is there a way to change that?
Oh cool! It must have been improved since the last time I used it. I just followed instructions and upon boot, I got error that my DWM or whichever files are not of the same version. How do I fix that? I downloaded the latest Symbols and created directory before I installed version 1.2.5. I also selected to Protect AeroGlass and I also installed in my user folder to avoid permissions problems when installing to Windows or Program Files folders. It appears none of that prevented the same problems this program has since day 1. Sorry, I don't mean to judge, but its just after SO MUCH development, its still very hard to figure out what exactly is needed and how to make it happen, and then when you do figure it out - it still doesn't work... I also got a message about copying stuff to clipboard, which I can tolerate if it happens ONCE after a reboot, but every once in a while...
OK, I think I got part of it to work and things are glassy, except for the Start Menu. It starts off with its AeroGlass look after a reboot, but then it quickly turns solid... I guess it doesn't work with the latest Start8??? Please TELL ME there is a way to remove the water mark! I am all for making this program NOT FREE, but the water-mark is just pushing it. An after-reboot reminder is good enough. EDIT - I just donated. Hopefully this will allow me to see this app in its full glory without any restrictions.
Yeah, actually yet that watermark is the main issue for a lot of people. No-one really likes a watermark up in their face every time, many even get rid of Preview watermarks by severely tampering system files . As always it leads to the ambition to get rid of it by using non-legit methods .
Well I am glad I donated - now it works just fine, although I couldn't get the Customizer to work with it.
Couldn't find any info how to use it correctly, as it comes with an own DLL . Can you shed some light.
Ah, it is my mistake. Just ignore the DLL - it was version which was update to allow realtime changes. It's already included in most recent version. So just run the EXE file.
