    I have made an image of an old box with a valid "Medion" XPHome OEM license. Now I like to use that created image under VirtualBox as if it was running under the old laptop.

    Question: Do i need to recreate the old BIOS setup from laptop as well? Or will it be enough setting the Data I have (Productname, ID, Key etc) from Windows to have this image run in VirtualBox as a legit XPHome Version? Does the XP Activiation process look for the "appropiate" BIOS in case of an OEM license or any XP license at all?

    Look at VirtualBox - Update, SLP & SLIC thread in stickies.

    Add
    Code:
    <ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiSystemVendor" value="MEDIONPC"/>
    or

    Code:
    <ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiSystemVendor" value="MEDIONNB"/>
    to .xml file
