Just to confirm that 8710p works with SLIC2.1 BIOS. Thank you, @TTAV134. WWAN whitelist ... hm, I still have 104 error, but after couple of seconds I'm able to proceed. This is not fixed, or ... ?
From the readme.txt in package: hp8710p whitelist removal mod with a non HP supported Wifi card you will receive this error message on boot: "104-Unsupported wireless network device detected" Don't care this message.
@ teils - Stop double posting, there is NO tool that works with that very BIOS Want to know more, then read more! sebus
Thanks I have already posted originally in the first few pages of this thread to confirm that the HP6720s bios mod works and shows the slic2.1. I am comming back to thank TTAV134 and confirm that the wlan whitelist removal also works. Last week i upgraded the original wlan mini pcie broadcom 54G for an intel 5100 N for my HP6720s. The wlan booted and i didn't get any 104 errors at boot. Many thanks for your great work guys
Hello! I found this thread and 1st post has link for bios with slic 2.1: "HP Compaq nw9440 Mobile Workstation (version F.1D 11-jul-2008) whitelist removed" Unfortunatelly, link to file on sendspace is dead. Any chance to repost it? Many thanks, b.
HP 6910P problem HP Compaq 6910P Intel gpu Dual boot linux and Win 7 First post! Great forum and I hope you can help me. I downloaded "sp49709_SLIC21_SLPon_no_whitelist_INTEL" and executed the .exe-file Everything worked fine during the process: backup, installing new and verifying, then I let the program restart the computer. During the shut down process some "keyboard update" started to run then the computer powered off. When I started the computer again there was a message saying something like "your bios wasn't updated be sure to follow instructions bla bla might require 2 attempts bla bla" So I tried 2 more times but the keyboard update-thing doesn't occur again and the messages is still there. Anyone with a solution to this problem? This computer had Vista OEM so I assume I had slic 2.0 Total noob when it comes to these kind of things. Edit the message read: Your BIOS failed to complete the update. Please ensure that you follow the correct procedures and try again. Thie may require two sequential BIOS updates to complete the update. /Twinned
try with the original bios from manufacturer, if it fail there is a problem with the eeprom on motherboard.
I downloaded and installed the bios tool and used opa-tool to insert cert and key.. Now the status is activated.. Is that all now?? TY Navin
